Rigging and Expressions

So I downloaded this rig from Creative Crash, which looks much better. So here are some expressions based on the images we took, although I would like some more to get a range.

Crash Bandicoot Chases
The second video in particular is great reference for the shots where it is infront of the Marmot. The sense of danger comes from jumping gapss and dodging things in the landscape, which could be rocks or trees in the case of the Marmot.
Cars Race Sequence
I have put this video up in relation to a kind of chase and the camera angles they use. They cut from the long shots to point of view shots quite a few times. And I think that when the Marmot and the Man are running they need to be dodging things rather than just running, there needs to be a sense of danger to the environment, like the man tripping up on a stone or even picking them up and throwing them at the Marmot, which would be looking behind him and dodging left to right. In the forest the man could be climbing through the branches of the trees while the Marmot just runs straight through the undergrowth.
I also like the slow motion and McQueen sticking his tongue out at the end, there could be some kind of jump with this in it looks funny and a slow mo could show the expression change of the man thinking he has the Marmot to realising it has been grabbed by the bird, depending if you want to go that way David.

Hercules Reference and Rigging Faces
David - I really think we should make the characters more styled to the time and place where they are from. I agree with you that Ling in Mulan would be great for our character- try changing the outfit for him and maybe making his cheeks bigger?
I realise this video isnt Mongolian but the Hercules style of drawing is similar to the period it is from. I think we should utilise this for our film. I blogged a couple of images from a history book yesterday these could help with your designs. If not maybe we could all go to a museum or something on tuesday?
Add: Just watching Hercules I think the style of the Hydra is awesome because you can barely tell it is 3D, it is really styled aswell, and I like the low angle shot looking up at the heads near the end, we could use that looking up at the man and use the reddish colours to make it look like he has won and then the Eagle swoops in.
